North Pittsburgh Past Finders Members are Off to a Great Start Saving Local HistoryAside from a few Artic cold days, Pittsburgh has been blessed with a mild beginning of Winter. Our members took advantage of the not yet frozen ground in hopes of saving a few more relics and history. Below is a sample of club finds so far in 2023. See all of them on our North Pittsburgh Past Finders Instagram and our North Pittsburgh Past Finders Official Facebook
Being a member of North Pittsburgh Past Finders Metal Detecting Club comes with some great benefits, one of them being a chance to win Best Find of the Year! During each monthly meeting, members can submit their best finds from the month prior, entering all three categories (jewelry, coin, and miscellaneous) for just $1 or 50 cents per entry. Then, during our club Holiday Party, members can choose one of their finds entered earlier in the year, to be voted on for Best Find of the Year.
This year there was a TIE for first place between a marked 14K gold and red garnet wreath brooch and a Civil War Officer's sable belt plate.
NPPF is holding our next meeting on February 6th. Come and meet some great people interested in local history and see how fun metal detecting is! Click here for meeting details |
